These days, dogs have become a part of our lives. They are commonly seen and ubiquitous. The types, sizes and shapes of these dogs are diverse but they are loved all around the world. As these animals are getting more and more popularity there to be more problems and controversy concerning many aspects of how we treat dogs. Most of the people do not believe that these adorable entities can be of any harm. However this notion is being disputed fiercely by some people these days. And going even further the notion of dog abuse itself is also becoming a greater problem.

As all of you know, there have been multiple accidents and emergency situations concerning dogs attacking people and in some cases killing the victim. There is a considerable debate on whether or not dogs should be allowed near the elderly or the young. Regardless of the breed of the dog, it is quite clear that the risk of dangerous dog attacks can be significantly influenced by human provocation of negligence. Dog bites affect tens of millions of people globally each year. It is estimated that two percent of the US population are bitten by dogs each year. Most bites occur to children and the elderly. This is because the dogs have a tendency to attack weaker beings.  But may also the case might be that children provoked the dog first. Still, until now, there has been no definite proof that these dogs are, on its own, stand as a danger great enough for there to be government class intervention.

The interview centered on the dispute concerning dogs.

Q: What do you think dogs mean to humans?
A: Well, as a dog owner I believe, they are the man’s greatest companion.  Society’s view on dogs, seem to be growing more positive these days. They are more than just animals and should be treated like you would treat humans.

Q:  But I am sure you heard that there are numerous cases of dogs attacking humans?
A:  Of course I have and there are very tragic accidents. However, speaking from my experience, if the owner takes care and cautious enough the chances of those accidents will decrease.

Q:  So all in all what kind of intervention is needed?
A: During the 5 years of my time with dogs, caution and no provocation are the best precaution that can be taken.

Anyway it is very clear that there needs to be a solution to this ever growing problem. There has been suggestions like mandatory leashes, declawing of big dogs, and using muzzle restraints (a thing that you wrap around a dog's mouth to prevent bites). However these are also being strongly debated for the reason of animal rights and how these restraints are unnecessary only if the owner takes care of their dogs intently.

Through the article above, the dangers of the dogs were mentioned. However this isn’t the only aspect that should be considered when debating the topics of dogs. The direction of the harm itself is changed around concerning dog abuse. Most cases are never reported. Dog abuse can be either deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal. Either way, the toll it takes on the creature is immense and in many cases these dogs die in the process of dog abuse. There are numerous organizations that focus on the release and saving of these dogs in need. Nevertheless, the abuse of dogs is not ending.

This heated controversy concerning dogs have no sign of ending while it is to uncertain to take any action.. This is truly a doggy dilemma.
