Mukbang, an internet video trend in which people consume large amounts of food , started the 10,000 calorie challenge that may cause health issues.

Participants of this Mukbang trend  were known to satisfy viewers with the amount of food and how well they could eat.

It has shaped Korean culture in a negative way, bringing concern over creating unhealthy eating culture.

Recently, among mukbang YouTubers, the 10,000 calorie challenge has become viral.

The challenge requires people to eat 10,000 calories worth of food within a certain amount of time, usually the span of 24 hours.

Many popular YouTubers, some grossing nearly 1 million subscribers, have participated in the challenge.

Not only Youtubers, but celebrities have also taken part in the challenge.

The videos are enjoyable to watch, but the covert issues of this challenge is that it can provoke health issues.

People with a significant influence on South Korean media taking part in the challenge will inevitably cause others to have partake in the challenge as well.

Videos of the 10,000 calories challenge have the purpose of making viewers satisfied.

These videos could be satisfying, but the problem is that participants must consume 10000 calories in around 24 hours.

If the foods consumed in the challenge were healthy, then rising health problems would be less of an impending concern.

However, the core of the problem is that many YouTubers consume foods that are usually fast foods, which are unhealthy.

Though these videos provide satisfaction to the viewers, eating 10,000 calories in 24 hours should be considered unhealthy, which is why this challenge should not go viral.

10,000 calories overgo the daily ideal calorie requirement for an average person to consume.

Although health issues from the challenge are concerning, popular YouTube videos of the challenge have over 4,000,000 views, and many of them are over 1,000,000 views.

Moreover, many YouTubers started increasing the calorie count  to the challenge, eating up to 20,000 to 30,000 calories a day in less than 24 hours, causing even more concerns about their health issues.

As the 10,000 calories challenge is becoming more and more popular, it is causing other YouTubers to eat more and make more provocative videos.

Some viewers or fans of mukbang videos may oppose the claims against these videos as they gain pleasure from these 10,000-calorie mukbang videos.

Many of these videos have a lot of likes and comments that are mostly very positive.

However, health experts claim eating over the calorie limit could cause people to become overweight and bring issues of high blood pressure.

Moreover, eating over the daily calorie amount increases the risk of the development of diabetes.

Not only becoming overweight, but consumption of  large amounts of food and unhealthy food may negatively impact your digestive system, causing gas in your stomach.

Thus, YouTubers should not overgo their daily calorie limit for the sake of gaining more views and becoming viral since the challenge might negatively affect their health.

Moreover, people who do not have a more significant amount of food tolerance, like mukbangYouTubers, should not be recommended to try the challenge.

Especially viewers with eating disorders should not be encouraged to try or even view videos of the 10,000 calorie challenge.

Therefore, the 10,000 calorie challenge should not be recommended unless you are a person with a high metabolism.
