Study cafes, a place combining both the characteristics of a library and a cafe, have been attracting teenagers lately.

There are several reasons why study cafes have become a trend among teenagers.

The first and foremost advantage of why students visit study cafes often is that they can bring their friends and have a chance to study with them.

When teenagers are in their own homes , it can be challenging  to bring their friends over to study with them for many other reasons, such as space or noise.

However, study cafes provide a desk and chair for each one of the people; this creates a personal space to study and allows you and your friends to focus quietly.

In addition, by studying with  friends, teenagers and their friends can encourage one another to concentrate on studying by looking at each other and diligently working on their schoolwork.

Teenagers are at an age where they are willing to spend more time with their friends instead of their family.

However, suppose they have a lot of homework to do left before they can hang out , many teenagers choose to go to study cafes to spend their time with their friends as well as spend their time finishing their work.

Another reason teenagers prefer to study in study cafes is that they havea quiet and personal space for them to focus on their work.

When teenagers stay at home to study, they tend to lose focus quickly because of common distractions like their siblings or hobbies that they frequently spend time on.

Nonetheless, when teenagers arrive at the study cafe, the atmosphere entirely changes from what they sawat their homes a moment ago.

In study cafes, people concentrate on their  work, and thus, it is difficult to hear people’s whispers or loud background noises that disrupt people’s concentration.

Furthermore, study cafes not only provide a personal workspace, it has differences from other workspaces.

For example, some study cafes have screen shields between desks so it helps teenagers who have a difficult time to concentrate on their studying by blocking their sight from what their person next to is doing.

That way, teenagers face their books by themselves and have an opportunity to stay focused on the hours they had set as a goal.

Even though study cafes can be a helpful place forteenagers stay on task, they could also bring side effects that keep them away from work.

For example, suppose a study cafe is unexpectedly bustling with people constantly coming in and going out. In that case, some teenagers could find this to be a distraction.

Since those teenagers might have looked forward to the study cafe being completely silent, it might be unsettling for them if they cannot study in a place where there are a lot of people in a room since it messes up their minds.

Moreover, since study cafes are a type of cafe, some are permitted to drink coffee or juice.

This can be, again, felt to be interruptions to some teenagers where the sound of drinking could be disturbing, especially if some of the people around them are crunching on ice inside their drink.

In such a way, study cafes could be advantageous for teenagers who would like to spend  time with their friends, or want a personal space for them to study.

But, teenagers should also remember distractions that can keep them from focusing on their work before going to the study cafe; to ask yourself if study cafes are a benefit for you and your method of studying.
