Annually, the SDC international school academy provides special programs for seven weeks  designed to improve the rationality, spirituality, sensibility, fitness, and intelligence of the students according to the chairman of the academy. 

The students participate in classes according to their levels from Monday to Friday, and every Saturday, they take exams for all the subjects that they have studied for each week.

Every Monday, the parents put their letters and some snacks on the students’ seats to encourage the students for the day ahead.

This program, called the ‘Falankas’, is designed to encourage the students to acknowledge their parents’ love and be motivated to study harder.

The main program of this winter intensive course is ‘The Five Star Education’, and was created by the chairman, as a pastor, to improve the students’ flaws in their own personalities and academic skills. 

He brings up new topics daily and discusses their flaws with the students and their parents. 

Many students tell their parents and teachers that they are encouraged to study and improve their relationships with their family members.

The whole student body participates in one of the performances the academy holds. 

This year, it held a Yoo Gwan-sun musical performance, a skit-drama performance, a dance performance of the Greatest Showman, and several others. 

The students prepare for the performances after participating in all the subject classes and the five-star education program. 

While practicing for the performances, they may learn other skills such as leadership and cooperation through the special roles that they are assigned to. 

They may also improve their fitness through the long practice hours of dancing, acting, and preparing props.

Every Saturday after the exams, the students and parents enjoy a program called the ‘banquet dinner party’ together. 

Parents of the whole student body are divided into several groups. 

Each group of parents prepares the dinner set boxes for the students and every parent in the group talks to their own children on the stage as a way to express their love towards them. 

Students once again realize their parents’ love towards them and this program gives an opportunity for the students to express their love to their parents as well. 

There is a special day designated to teach the students about their parent’s love. 

On this day, the parents prepare presents and letters for their own children as a surprise event and students are directed to write back to their parents.

The students are thus induced to express their love to their parents. 

As explained above, the programs are aimed to enhance the five abilities of the students. 

There are countless cases of students who once had bad relationships with their parents now expressing love to their parents, those who lacked the learning skills obtaining a great motive to learn, and those who are frustrated to speak in front of people making great speeches in front of hundreds of people. 

To sum up, the programs designed in this academy’s winter course help improve the students’ five abilities: sensibility, rationality, fitness, intelligence, and spirituality. 

The students who have studied or are currently studying in the academy are expected to live a well-established life by virtue of the education here that embraces most of the essential characteristics of a person to live in a society.
