South Korean tech companies excelled at CES 2024, showcasing remarkable achievements and groundbreaking products during the global event held from January 9th to 12th.

 

At the CES 2024, over 500 South Korean companies signed up to display their products, making South Korea the third-largest exhibitor after the United States and China.

 

Industry giants such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor, SK Group, and Kia attended the conference, showcasing their latest technology with enhanced AI advancements.

Samsung Electronics, a leading mobile phone and memory chip manufacturer introduced their new AI-powered robot “Ballie.”

LG Electronics also presented a new AI-powered Smart Home AI agent called “Zero Labor Home,” which can perform various tasks and interact with humans.

Furthermore, they unveiled the “LG Signature OLED T,” the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV; the screen’s transparent mode allows users to see the space behind the screen while the black mode offers the quality of a 4K OLED TV.

SK Group’s seven major affiliates such as SK Hynix, SK Innovation, and SK Telecom also participated in the event, showcasing the group’s net-zero technologies and products.

Their showroom was decorated with a theme park concept where visitors could ride futuristic trains and flying carpets and enjoy an AI fortune teller, immersing them in a net-zero world where the climate crisis has been resolved.

Hyundai Motor, South Korea’s biggest carmaker, shared its future blueprint for a hydrogen energy ecosystem and its air mobility unit, Supernal, captured visitors’ attention with “eVTOL,” an electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle.

Kia also made a return to CES in five years, unveiling five concept cars at the exhibition.

Not only major companies, but South Korean startups also swept CES 2024, receiving multiple innovation awards at the event.

These awards were given to companies that showcase products with outstanding technology design and innovation.

For instance, South Korean Startup 10minds presented their AI-equipped “Motion Pillow,” which helps reduce snoring and improve airflow by gently turning the user’s head while sleeping.

According to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the South Korean presence at CES has grown remarkably in recent years, with companies leading tech trends across the industry.

Korean companies have recognized the importance of global events since they provide innovative companies with efficient exposure and open the door to new business opportunities.

Due to its increasing leadership in the global tech industry, South Korean companies are expected to maintain a rising presence at CES in the coming years.

CES, organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is a major international consumer electronics and IT conference.

This year, the event was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, United States, with more than 4000 companies from 150 countries participating.

Global tech companies, including major corporations and startups, presented their latest advances, products, and software solutions; some notable CES 2024 attendees include Intel, AMD, Google, Razer, Logitech, Hisense, and Adobe.

CES served as a crucial platform for numerous companies to unveil innovations and converge on the forefront of business and consumer technologies.

This year’s theme was “All Together. All On,” highlighting the collaboration of all industries to solve everyday issues through innovations.

Therefore, advances in AI technology across industries including automotive, infrastructure, healthcare, and smart homes were top topics at CES 2024.
